With excursions to both north and south of the island, this will be a very enjoyable and relaxing holiday. HOLIDAY HIGHLIGHTS Isle of Man | Laxey Woollen Mill | Douglas | Castletown | Peel | St Johns | Port Erin | Ramsey DAY ONE – Arrival We depart from your home area in the morning travelling to Heysham to connect with the afternoon sailing to the Isle of Man. DAY TWO – Laxey Woollen Mill and Ramsey Our excursion today takes us south to the village of Laxey - home to ‘Lady Isabella’ the largest surviving waterwheel of its kind in the world that served the mine for over 70 years. There is also the famous Laxey Woollen Mill where wool from Manx Loaghtan sheep is spun into delightful garments. Later, we return to Ramsey and have the rest of the afternoon free to explore at leisure. DAY THREE – Peel, Port Erin and Castletown We begin with a ride to the west coast and the beautiful fishing port of Peel. Here we have a chance to look around before continuing to the southern side of the island and Port Erin with its beautiful bay. After some time here, we continue along the southern coast to Castletown where we spend time exploring before travelling back to our hotel. DAY FOUR – St Johns and Douglas This morning we make our way southwest to St Johns, home to Tynwald Hill – the symbol of Isle of Man independence. We enjoy some free time here to explore. Later we travel east to visit Douglas, the capital of the Isle of Man. You have the chance to enjoy lunch and spend the afternoon at leisure. Take a stroll along the promenade, browse through the shops or just sit and watch the world go by. DAY FIVE – Departure After breakfast we return to the harbour for the crossing to Heysham, continuing on the way to our home area and arriving in the evening.
Our base is the island’s capital, Douglas, with its delightful promenade, Victorian pier, and specialist shops. Excursions include three different Manx railways— not forgetting the ride up Snaefell. We feel this will be a very enjoyable and relaxing holiday. HOLIDAY HIGHLIGHTS Isle of Man Steam Railway Journey | Port St Mary | Castletown | Manx Electric Railway Journey | Snaefell Mountain Railway Journey | Ramsey | Douglas DAY ONE – Arrival We depart from your home and join your coach to travel to Heysham to connect with the afternoon sailing to the Isle of Man and on to your hotel in Douglas. DAY TWO – Isle of Man Steam Railway We join the Isle of Man Steam Railway train from Douglas to Port Erin with its beautiful, sheltered bay overlooked by Bradda Head where we re-join our coach to travel to Port St Mary and Castletown. DAY THREE – Manx Electric Railway and Snaefell Mountain Railway Today we join the Manx Electric Railway for a coastal ride to Laxey; we then join the Snaefell Mountain Railway to the summit with views across to Ireland and Wales. Upon our return, time is allowed to view the famous Laxey Waterwheel before re-joining your coach and continue to Ramsey before returning to Douglas. DAY FOUR – Douglas Enjoy a leisurely breakfast this morning and a relaxed day in Douglas. You’re free to spend the day as you please—perhaps take a stroll along the promenade, browse the local shops, or simply sit back with a coffee and watch the world go by. Whether you choose to explore or unwind, the day is yours to enjoy at your own pace. DAY FIVE – Departure We depart out hotel and take the ferry Heysham, and we begin our journey home.
