DAY FIVE – Lindisfarne and Bamburgh Our first excursion takes us to the north of Northumberland, across the causeway to Holy Island. Here we explore the mysterious Lindisfarne. After taking in the island’s beauty and history, we head back across the causeway to Bamburgh. Here, you can visit the Grace Darling Museum, which tells the inspiring story of the lighthouse keeper’s daughter and her heroic rescue of shipwreck survivors. Please note: The crossing of the causeway to Holy Island is governed by tide times. It may be necessary to amend this excursion. DAY SIX – Departure After breakfast we leave our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.
Coastal Scenic Tour DAY ONE – Arrival
We depart from your home and travel north to Northumbria. We stop off at Richmond, a beautiful Yorkshire Dales market town. On arrival at our hotel we enjoy tea & coffee and biscuits and time to relax before dinner this evening. DAY TWO – Historic Alnwick Castle & Gardens Today we take the road north, past Blyth and Ashington, to Amble, Warkworth and historic Alnwick. We visit the magnificent Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland family dating back to 1309. The castle has featured in several Harry Potter films and also Downton Abbey. There is much to see, including the sumptuous State Rooms. The beautifully landscaped Alnwick Garden has many unique features, sculptures, the infamous Poison Garden and one of the largest tree houses in the world. DAY THREE – Newcastle-Upon-Tyne Today we have a leisurely day to explore Newcastle at your own pace. With the hotel being right in the heart of the city, you’re perfectly placed to experience all that this vibrant place has to offer. You could wander down Northumberland Street for some of the best shopping in the area, or visit the Great North Museum to explore its fascinating exhibits. If you’re in the mood for something more relaxed, enjoy the lively atmosphere of the city’s renowned bars and restaurants, or simply take a stroll along the Quayside to enjoy the riverside views. There’s Today we travel the short distance to Beamish, the world-famous living museum of the North. Here you can relive the story of life in Northeast England during the 1820s, 1900s, 1940s. & 1950s. Board one of the trams, horse-drawn carts or trains and visit the 1900s traditional sweet shop or explore the 1940s wartime farm, disappear down into the 1900s mine at the pit village. something for everyone in this bustling city. DAY FOUR – Beamish Living Museum

DAY TWO – Holy Island and Bamburgh After a leisurely breakfast, we journey along the stunning Northumberland coast, making our first stop at the charming harbour town of Seahouses. Here you can wander around the harbour and grab a coffee while taking in the beautiful coastal views. We then head back to the hotel, where you can unwind this afternoon before dinner. DAY FOUR – Departure After breakfast this morning we leave our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.

Wander through its historic streets, pop into the local shops, or enjoy a leisurely stroll around the town’s beautiful parks and gardens. You can also visit Alnwick Castle, which has starred in several films, or relax in one of the cozy cafés. Whether you’re keen to explore the rich history, discover hidden gems, or simply enjoy the laid-back atmosphere, there’s plenty to keep you entertained in this picturesque town. DAY FOUR – Holy Island Today’s excursion takes us across the causeway to Holy Island, Lindisfarne. Later we return, making a stop in Belford for free time.
