HOLIDAY HIGHLIGHTS York | North Yorkshire Moors National Park | York Guided Tour | York Riverboat Trip | Historic Seaport of Whitby | North Yorkshire Moors Railway | Castle Howard | Whitby DAY ONE – Arrival We depart from your home and travel to York arriving late afternoon you will have time to relax before dinner this evening. DAY TWO – ‘York in a Nutshell’ and York Riverboat Trip Today is ‘York in a nutshell’. After breakfast we are joined by our tour guide for a comprehensive morning sightseeing tour of York. The afternoon we enjoy a cruise on the river Ouse with York Boat followed by free time in York to explore the city at leisure. DAY THREE – Whitby and North Yorkshire Moors National Park This morning we leave for a scenic tour to Whitby and the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. Our first stop is Pickering where we join the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for a ride across the moors as we make our way to the historic seaport of Whitby, with its ruined Abbey atop the cliff overlooking the busy harbour. We have time for lunch and to explore the town before returning across Blakey Ridge, offering some of the most spectacular views of the area. From Hutton-le-Hole we continue to Helmsley for a short break before returning to the hotel. DAY FOUR – York and Castle Howard We have the morning free for further exploration of York. You can visit the Jorvik Centre, The National Railway Museum, walk the City Walls, the list is endless. No visit to York is complete without seeing the magnificent Minster, and the surrounding narrow streets and little alleyways, including the famous Shambles. This afternoon we visit delightful Castle Howard, best known for its starring role in ‘Brideshead Revisited’. We have time to explore the house and the lovely grounds. DAY FIVE – Departure After breakfast we leave our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.

DAY TWO – Ceramic Inspirations, Wensleydale Creamery and Hawes This morning we head to Leyburn to visit Ceramic Inspirations, with its wide range of handmade items, and the nearby Chocolate Shop. We then continue to Hawes for the Wensleydale Creamery’s ‘Cheese Experience’ and time to explore the town’s antique and boutique shops before returning to the hotel. DAY THREE – Harrogate, Ripton and Masham This morning we explore elegant Harrogate, known for its grand buildings, boutique shops, green spaces, and the famous Betty’s Tearooms. Later, we visit Ripon to see its impressive Cathedral and enjoy lunch, before heading to Masham for a tour and tasting at the award-winning Black Sheep Brewery. DAY FOUR – Helmsley Walled Garden, Thirsk and The World of James Herriot This morning we visit Helmsley to explore its historic walled gardens, dating back to 1758 and set against the backdrop of Helmsley Castle. Afterward, perhaps enjoy award-winning ice cream from Ryeburn of Helmsley. We then head to Thirsk to visit The World of James Herriot, featuring props and studio sets from the much-loved TV series based on local vet Alf Wright. DAY FIVE – Departure After breakfast this morning we leave our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.

DAY TWO – North Yorkshire Moors Railway and Whitby We cross the moors via Blakey Ridge and pass through scenic Hutton- le-Hole to Pickering, where we board the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for a steam ride to Whitby, passing Goathland – known as ‘Aidensfield’ from Heartbeat. Whitby is a characterful maritime town with winding streets, alleyways, and the famous steps up to the Abbey. DAY THREE – Richmond, Wensleydale Railway and Thirsk We begin in historic Richmond, overlooking the River Swale. Visit the castle, Green Howards Museum, or the Richmondshire Museum, home to the All Creatures Great and Small set. Then enjoy a nostalgic Wensleydale Railway ride from Leyburn to Leeming Bar. In Thirsk, home of James Herriot, there’s time to visit the acclaimed World of James Herriot Centre before we return to the hotel. DAY FOUR –Preston Park & Hall Museum and River Tees Cruise We begin at Preston Park & Hall Museum, set in lovely parkland with fascinating memorabilia and a recreated Victorian street. Then board the Teesside Princess for a relaxing River Tees cruise to charming Yarm. This afternoon, enjoy a scenic drive through Bilsdale, past Rievaulx Abbey, and stop in Helmsley before returning via the dramatic Sutton Bank with its stunning views. DAY FIVE – Departure After breakfast, this morning we leave our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.

DAY THREE – Walkers Garden Centre and Lakeside Outlet Store Today, we visit the Award-Winning Walkers Nurseries and Garden Centre, featuring a variety of plants, a show garden, shop, and café. Next, we head to Lakeside Village Outlet in Doncaster, offering over 45 well-known stores and plenty of dining options. After returning to the hotel, enjoy more time at the Wildlife Park or relax before dinner. DAY FOUR – Yorkshire Wildlife Park or Yorkshire Hive This morning you can choose to either explore the Wildlife Park for another day, and walk among pre-historic giants, in the newest reserve in Yorkshire. The unique lands of Pangea; spot some of the largest and most terrifying species to ever roam the Earth. Or you can visit The Yorkshire Hive shopping, dining and entertainment destination located adjacent to the entrance of Yorkshire Wildlife Park, Doncaster.
