HOLIDAY HIGHLIGHTS Belvoir Castle | Melton Mowbray | Richard III Visitor Centre | Leicester | Battle of Bosworth Heritage Centre | Market Bosworth DAY ONE – Bridgnorth and Arrival We depart from your home and travel south firstly to Bridgnorth where you have time at leisure before we continue our journey to our hotel in Leicester arriving late afternoon. Time to relax before dinner. DAY TWO – Melton Mowbray and Belvoir Castle Our first outing takes us to Melton Mowbray for market day, a town with royal heritage dating back to Richard the Lionheart, famous for Stilton, Red Leicester cheese, and Melton Mowbray Pork Pie. Visit Melton Carnegie Museum to see an original pie oven, grab a pie at Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe, or stop by the Anne of Cleves pub. In the afternoon, we head to Belvoir Castle, featured as Windsor Castle in Netflix’s The Crown. Set on a hill with panoramic views, you’ll have time to explore the castle and its landscaped gardens. DAY THREE – Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre and Market Bosworth After a leisurely breakfast, we make our way to the Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre. The story is told of the Battle of Bosworth in 1485 which marked the start of the Tudor dynasty. Later we make our way to explore the medieval settlement of Market Bosworth where it is Market Day. Free time at leisure DAY FOUR – Richard III Visitor Centre and Leicester This morning, we explore the story of Richard III, the last English king to die in battle and the first to be DNA tested. The award-winning Richard III Visitor Centre uses modern technology to take us from the Wars of the Roses to the discovery of his remains under a car park 500 years later. Afterward, enjoy a free afternoon to explore Leicester, with options like the Guildhall, Cathedral, Museum & Art Gallery, or the quirky independent shops in Leicester Lanes. DAY FIVE – Departure After breakfast, we leave our hotel and make our journey home

DAY TWO – Stamford and Belton House This morning, we make our way to the beautiful and historic town of Stamford, known for its charming art and craft shops, winding side streets, and welcoming cafés and tea rooms—perfect for a relaxing stroll and a spot of lunch. In the afternoon, we visit Belton House, an impressive National Trust property often seen on screen, with striking architecture and rich history. Generations of the Brownlow family shaped the estate, enlisting top designers and craftsmen to create stunning gardens and interiors, from 17th-century sash windows to an Industrial Revolution-era orangery. Inside, admire dazzling silver, porcelain, and a world-renowned library. We then return to the hotel with time to relax before dinner. DAY THREE – Leicester, King Richard III Visitor Centre and Rutland Water Cruise This morning we head into Leicester, a vibrant city to explore. The shopping core includes the 800-year-old market, independent boutiques in The Lanes, and the Highcross shopping complex, all radiating from the iconic Clock Tower. After lunch, we explore the history of King Richard III at the King Richard III Visitor Centre, housed in a stunning Victorian Gothic building next to the site where his remains were discovered. We then enjoy a Rutland Water Cruise with Afternoon Cream Tea before returning to our hotel. DAY FOUR – Shrewsbury and Departure After breakfast, this morning we leave our hotel and make our journey home calling at Shrewsbury on our way. It is no wonder that Lincoln is a popular location. Wander along the picturesque, cobbled streets and take in the spectacular sights of Lincoln’s magnificent historic architecture. DAY THREE – Skegness and Cleethorpes Today, we head to the coast, visiting the popular seaside resorts of Skegness and Cleethorpes. Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the sandy beaches, explore the lively promenades, and discover the local shops and cafes. Whether you prefer to relax by the sea, enjoy the attractions, or take in the charming coastal atmosphere, there’s plenty to do in both towns. DAY FOUR – Boston Belle River Cruise This morning we visit Boston, the historic market town and port. From the historic Guildhall to the beautiful nature reserves, there is plenty to see and do in Boston. The market town has a rich heritage and is known to many people as the home of the Pilgrim Fathers, who sailed from The Haven in 1620 and settled in what is now Boston, Massachusetts. In the afternoon, we enjoy a 1-hour guided river cruise on the Boston Belle in the Boston area of Lincolnshire, cruising along the tranquil waters of the River Witham with entertaining commentary. DAY FIVE – Departure After breakfast we leave our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.

DAY TWO – Skegness and Downtown Shopping Complex After breakfast this morning we head east to the traditional seaside resort of Skegness. The morning is free for you to explore the seaside resort. Later in the afternoon, we make a stop at the Downtown Shopping Complex before making our way back to our hotel. DAY THREE – Newark-on-Trent and Sleaford This morning, we head for Newark-on-Trent where is it market day. Perhaps visit the National Civil War Centre, Newark Castle, or search for a bargain at one of the antique centres in the town. Later, we take a drive through the countryside to Sleaford, a quaint market town known for its crafts and art. DAY FOUR – Guided Tour of Lincoln and Lincoln Cathedral Guided Tour Today we drive to the historic city of Lincoln with its magnificent Cathedral, and next to it the Norman castle. First, we meet our guide for a familiarisation tour of the city on the coach, followed by a guided tour of the Cathedral itself later in the day. The old town is a labyrinth of little alleyways and interesting shops to explore with plenty of tea rooms to keep you going for refreshments. DAY FIVE – Departure After breakfast we leave our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.
