Along the upper reaches of the River Severn and the borders between England and Wales, the countryside of Shropshire shelters some of the most beautiful landscapes and unspoilt towns. HOLIDAY HIGHLIGHTS Bridgenorth | Telford | Ludlow | Shrewsbury | River Severn Cruise | Severn Valley Railway | Beautiful Georgian Bewdley | Blists Hills Victorian Town | Stokesay Castle | Kidderminster | Ironbridge Gorge DAY ONE – Arrival We depart from your home and travel to Shropshire arriving late afternoon you will have time to relax before dinner this evening. DAY TWO – Stokesay Castle and Ludlow Today we take a ride south to Stokesay Castle. Stokesay is the best fortified manor house in Britain. It is a survivor of 700 years of border and civil wars and its buildings are complete and breath-taking. We then head for historic Ludlow, a medieval town with an imposing castle at the top of the town square. The town has much to offer. DAY THREE – Shrewsbury, River Severn Cruise and Blists Hill Victorian Town This morning we visit historic Shrewsbury, full of black-and-white timber buildings and winding alleyways beside the River Severn. Enjoy a river cruise and free time to explore and have lunch. In the afternoon, we head to Ironbridge Gorge to visit Blists Hill Victorian Town, an open-air museum where costumed characters portray everyday life in the Victorian era. DAY FOUR – Severn Valley Railway, Kidderminster and Bewdley This morning we head to Bridgnorth and board the Severn Valley Railway for a scenic ride through the Severn Valley to Kidderminster. Enjoy free time to explore this historic market town, where notable figures like Winston Churchill, Stanley Baldwin, Ernest Shackleton, and Emmeline Pankhurst once spoke. We then head to the charming Georgian town of Bewdley for more free time before returning to our hotel. DAY FIVE – Departure After breakfast this morning we leave our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.

HOLIDAY HIGHLIGHTS Cirencester | Chavenage House | Gloucester | River Wye Cruise | Monmouth | Chepstow | Forest of Dean | Cotswolds | Wye Valley DAY ONE – Arrival We depart from your home and travel to Gloucester, with tea and coffee and biscuits on arrival. Time to relax before dinner this evening. DAY TWO – Cirencester, Tetbury and Chavenage House After a leisurely breakfast, we drive to historic Stroud on our way to Cirencester, the ‘capital of the Cotswolds,’ where you’ll have time to explore. Next, we head to Royal Tetbury, known for its Royal connections, before visiting Chavenage House. This stunning 16th- century manor, with Civil War ties, includes the room Cromwell stayed in during 1648. DAY THREE – National Waterways Museum and Gloucester We spend the morning in Gloucester, with chance to look around the historic city centre and visit the magnificent Cathedral. This afternoon we head for the restored and very impressive Victorian Docks. Here we find the National Waterways Museum. After enjoy a stroll around the Docks and visit the Merchant’s Quay shopping centre, with unique and unusual shops, cafes, and bars. DAY FOUR – River Wye Cruise, Monmouth and Chepstow Our visit today takes us along the shore road of the River Severn to the historic town of Chepstow for a short break before we meander north up the beautiful Wye Valley, passing the ruins of Tintern Abbey on the way. Lunch stop today is in delightful Monmouth and afterwards we enjoy a cruise on the River Wye at Symonds Yat, returning afterwards to the hotel. DAY FIVE – Departure After breakfast, this morning we leave our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.

On our way we visit Ludlow a thriving medieval market town and an architectural gem. You will have time here to explore before we continue with the rest of our journey to our hotel, with time to relax before dinner this evening. DAY TWO – Stratford-upon-Avon Today you have a day at leisure in Stratford-upon-Avon, where you could visit Shakespeare’s Birthplace, in the heart of Stratford-upon- Avon, or explore the unique and individual shops. Explore the town with the self-guided walk, information available at the TIC. There are many places to eat, and relax, as well as regular departures on the canal cruises. The day is yours to enjoy as you wish. We will later return to our hotel where you have time to relax before dinner this evening. DAY THREE – Warwick and Royal Leamington Spa After breakfast this morning, we journey to Warwick, a charming and historic town famed for its impressive medieval architecture, narrow streets, and fascinating heritage. Take time to explore its atmospheric centre, filled with character and history. Later, we continue to Royal Leamington Spa, a stylish town set on the River Leam, celebrated for its elegant Regency architecture, boutique shops, and wide boulevards lined with gardens. We then return to our hotel to relax and enjoy a leisurely dinner. DAY FOUR – Bridgenorth and Departure After breakfast, this morning we leave our hotel and make our journey home, stopping at Bridgnorth for a while before continuing our journey.

From there we’ll proceed to the hotel arriving late afternoon. DAY TWO – Cirencester Today we visit Cirencester, the heart of the Cotswolds, often called the Capital of the Cotswolds. It’s a charming market town brimming with history, from its Roman roots to its stunning medieval architecture. You’ll have time to explore its quaint streets, browse local shops, and perhaps stop for a coffee in one of its lovely cafés. With so much to see and do, it’s the perfect place to soak in the Cotswold charm at your own pace. After our day here we’ll make our way back to the hotel. DAY THREE – Cotswold’s Tour and Bampton Today’s Cotswolds Village Tour includes a visit to Bampton, a historic Anglo-Saxon centre mentioned in the Domesday Book. The Old Grammar School, built in 1653 by merchant Robert Vesey, is known as the ‘Hospital’ in Downton Abbey. It now houses an archive with old photographs and hosts annual exhibitions. DAY FOUR – Crocodiles of the World and Sudeley Castle This morning, visit Crocodiles of the World, the UK’s first crocodile zoo, home to over 80 crocodiles and other wildlife like meerkats and Galapagos tortoises. Then, explore Sudeley Castle, a Tudor gem with 1,000 years of history. Discover the church where Queen Katherine Parr is buried, and stroll through the stunning gardens, including the Queen’s Garden. DAY FIVE – Departure This morning, we depart to begin our journey home with a comfort stop en route.
