SPRING EXPLORER IN DEVON AND THE EDEN PROJECT Join us on this break, we take you to the southwest of England to enjoy pretty coastlines, maritime Plymouth, and the famous Eden Project as we explore Devon’s popular landmarks. HOLIDAY HIGHLIGHTS Eden Project | Torquay | Paignton | Maritime Plymouth DAY ONE – Arrival We depart from your home and travel to Plymouth, arriving late afternoon with time to relax before dinner this evening. DAY TWO – Torquay and Paignton This morning we drive to ‘Queen of the English Riviera’ and one of England’s best-loved resorts, Torquay. It boasts a stunning seafront, stylish marina and beautiful beaches meandering the length of the town. Visit the harbour, enjoy a stroll along the promenade, or discover more about its history at Torre Abbey and Gardens. Perhaps do some souvenir shopping or simply relax on the seafront. In the afternoon we head to Paignton where you are free to discover the town and its 18th- century harbour. Perhaps enjoy a stroll along the easily accessible beachfront with its traditional promenade and green. DAY THREE – Plymouth Enjoy a day at leisure in the historic maritime city of Plymouth. The city has a great naval history, stretching back from the time of Sir Francis Drake and the Spanish Armada to today’s ultra-modern navy dockyards. Explore Plymouth Hoe, wander around the boutiques and galleries on The Barbican, see the famous Mayflower Steps and perhaps enjoy lunch overlooking the harbour or at Royal William Yard. The Box, an award-winning museum and art gallery with free entry, is also well worth a visit. Return to the hotel at lunchtime for a light lunch. DAY FOUR – Eden Project Today we head for the Eden Project. Experience the sights, smells and scale of the rainforests in the Rainforest Biome, amble amongst the orange and lemon trees in the Mediterranean Biome and in the 30-acre Outdoor Garden discover a wide variety of plants that flourish in the Cornish sunshine. DAY FIVE – Departure After a leisurely breakfast we depart our hotel and begin our homeward journey with comfort stops en route.

The Babbacombe Hotel enjoys stunning views across Lyme Bay. DAY TWO – Sidmouth and Exmouth Today we travel to Sidmouth along the coast. Explore the little streets, museum, and the sea front, or just sit back and relax and watch the world go by. After lunch we’ll visit Exmouth, a lively town, situated on the east coast of Devon where the River Exe meets the sea. DAY THREE – Babbacombe A day at leisure in Babbacombe, you could visit the model village, or maybe take the cliff railway to Oddicombe Beach. Or maybe simply relax in the hotel and enjoy the views over the bay. This evening you may like to visit the theatre, within walking distance of the hotel, tickets for shows will be on sale at the hotel through a theatre representative should you wish to attend. DAY FOUR – Buckfast Abbey and Okenhampton Enjoy a full day excursion starting at Buckfast Abbey, where you’ll have time to explore the Abbey and its beautiful gardens before heading to Okehampton, a lively market town on the edge of Dartmoor. Spend some time in the town or take a stroll through Simmons Park, a peaceful park with historical memorials, wooden bridges, waterfalls, and stunning wildflowers. Afterward, we’ll return to our hotel. DAY FIVE – Departure After breakfast, this morning we leave our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.

DAY TWO – Babbacombe A day at leisure today in Babbacombe to explore your surroundings. With its own promenade, theatre, shops, and restaurants and of course not forgetting the Babbacombe Model Village – well worth a visit. Take the Babbacombe Cliff Railway, one of only a few original working funicular railways still in existence today. From here you can explore the beaches and the harbour before making your way back to the Cliff Railway and your hotel. Or simply enjoy some relaxation at the hotel. DAY THREE – Totnes Totnes is a charming and characterful town, full of history, quirky shops, and a relaxed atmosphere. Take time to explore its winding streets, browse independent boutiques, or perhaps visit the castle or the Guildhall to discover more about its fascinating past. Enjoy a coffee in one of the many cosy cafés as you soak in the local vibe. We’ll return to our hotel mid-afternoon, giving you time to unwind before dinner. There is an optional theatre excursion this evening. DAY FOUR – Sidmouth After breakfast today we travel to Sidmouth, with its red sandstone cliff which dates to the Triassic period. You have the day at leisure here, why not take a stroll along Millennium Walkway which stretches the length of the beach or relax in the stylish café’s and watch the world go by. We’ll then return to our hotel mid-afternoon when you have time to relax before dinner this evening. DAY FIVE – Departure After breakfast this morning we leave our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.
A sail and rail holiday on the South Devon Coast, we enjoy a boat cruise on the River Exe, a ride on the South Devon Railway. DAY TWO – Torquay Today is yours to enjoy Torquay at your own pace—stroll the promenade, browse the shops, relax by the harbour, or unwind in one of the town’s gardens or cafés. DAY THREE – Devon Coastal Tour, Exeter and Exmouth This morning we enjoy a scenic Devon coastal tour, passing through Teignmouth and Dawlish en route to Exeter, where we take a break to explore. We then head to Exmouth for lunch and a relaxing River Exe cruise, taking in the area’s history, beauty, and wildlife. DAY FOUR – Newton Abbot and South Devon Railway This morning we visit Newton Abbot on market day for a browse and chance to get lunch. We then head to Buckfastleigh to board the South Devon Railway for a scenic ride along the Dart estuary to Totnes. Back at Buckfastleigh, explore the museum, shops, and enjoy a treat at the Refreshment Rooms before returning to the hotel. DAY FIVE – Kingsbridge and Beautiful South Hams Today we explore Devon’s South Hams, starting with a visit to Kingsbridge, the region’s charming ‘capital’. We then head to Dartmouth, rich in naval history and home to the Royal Naval College. Enjoy lunch and a stroll by the harbour before returning to the hotel in the late afternoon. DAY SIX – Departure After breakfast we leave our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.
