Hello Chanhassen!
Excitement is in the air with the 4th of July Celebration right around the corner. This special event brings our community together over the course of three days, during which we share in fun, food, activities, and laughter. While some events might look a little different this year due to the construction downtown, our city staff has worked diligently to ensure great memories will still be made. The Chanhassen community, its residents, businesses, and important partnerships make our city truly unique and make this celebration special to all of us. Thank you to everyone who makes this event happen: Chanhassen city staff, Chanhassen Fire Department and Carver County Sheriff’s Office, the Rotary Club of Chanhassen, and all participating businesses. Teamwork makes the dream work! I hope that everyone has a wonderful 4th of July! Stay safe, have fun, and may God Bless America!
ELISE RYAN MAYOR CITY OF CHANHASSEN
You may be surprised to know that the 4th of July Parade is organized by volunteers from Chanhassen, as is the Taste of Chanhassen, the Classic Car Show, the T-6 Thunderbird parade flyover, and, of course, the Beer Garden. Months of planning and thousands of volunteer hours are given by Chanhassen Rotarians and friends to help bring our city’s celebration to life. David Neubauer, Rotary president, says “volunteering in our community brings us together as we celebrate Chanhassen, the nation’s historical founding, and our independence. It’s our most important and biggest event that raises money to cover the costs of the parade as well as funding our support for many of our local non-profits and charities.”
Ruth Lunde, this year’s volunteer parade chairperson, says, “The parade’s theme is ‘There’s Magic in the Air,’ and more than 14,000 parade goers will see the magic of Rotary as an expected 80 plus entrants bring bands, floats, animals, royalty, clowns, and probably lots of candy. The parade will be led by our local Legion’s honor guard and the Rotary’s Distinguished Service Award recipient, exemplifying the best in volunteering. The Rotary humbly thinks it’s one of the best hometown parades in the State.” And none of this would be possible without the terrific support of Chanhassen City’s staff and Sheriff’s Deputies. Their work on a holiday makes it fun and safe for all. DAVID NEUBAUER PRESIDENT ROTARY CLUB OF CHANHASSEN RUTH LUNDE 4 TH OF JULY EVENT CHAIR ROTARY CLUB OF CHANHASSEN
Enjoy the celebration and consider becoming a volunteer for the Rotary or any of the amazing local non- profits. Volunteering makes our community live up to its rating as the ‘#1 Best City to Live in America’.
