(pictured) Loup Rivers Scenic Byway Nebraska Highways 91, 11 Rolling farmland surrounds the scenic Loup River, giving way to the Sandhills to the west. This byway is home to the Nebraska Junk Jaunt, outdoor activities at two reservoirs, and the Happy Jack Chalk Mine. Sandhills Journey National Scenic Byway Nebraska Highway 2, SandhillsJourney.com Highway 2 rolls 272 miles through the Nebraska Sandhills, the largest area of grass-covered sand dunes in the Western Hemisphere. The World Wildlife Fund likens the ecological importance of the Sandhills to places like the Amazon rainforest.
