APEGA relies on secure information technology (IT) to meet our mandate to regulate the engineering and geoscience professions. In 2024, we moved our Edmonton office to a new, modern location, and we enhanced the flexible work model for staff, with a goal of continually improving operational efficiency. APEGA’s new Edmonton office In October, we moved to a new office space in south Edmonton that enables staff to work together on one floor— increasing connection and collaboration. Several factors influenced this move: • The downtown office lease was going to expire at the end of 2024. • There were significant cost savings in moving to the south side. • Our flexible work model allows staff to work in the office and remotely, meaning we needed less space. • The new office has free parking for staff, volunteers, and visitors, and is easily accessible from major roadways. New phone number • At the same time as the office move, we updated to a single provincewide phone number: 587-489-1500. • Our toll-free number remains unchanged: 1-800-661-7020. New IT infrastructure The IT team works to deliver robust and stable regulatory business operations by maintaining the infrastructure that supports core business operations. The move to a new office enabled us to rethink how we can use technology to facilitate a better work experience. • Many of APEGA’s core functions use cloud-based technology, making work secure and accessible in the office and remotely. • Hardware was standardized for ease of use, with plug-and-play laptop ports and monitors.

The myAPEGA portal provides a stable and secure way for registrants to complete their APEGA requirements online.
In 2024, the myAPEGA portal had
952,200 logins.
