Council

Professional members, professional licensees, and life members are eligible to apply to be considered for APEGA Council. The Nominating Committee reviews all applications using a structured process, and all individuals who meet the required competencies are put forward as candidates for election. Council members set a high bar of professionalism and volunteer leadership for APEGA and the engineering and geoscience professions at large. Voter participation in the 2024 council election was 13.8 per cent , which is consistent with historical trends but slightly down from the previous year. Council applications As a result of efforts to broaden awareness of the opportunity, we saw an increase in applications from professionals who wanted to run in the 2025 election. These professionals represent a wider range of backgrounds and experiences than in previous years. We received a record 37 applications, up from 30 in 2023 and 21 in 2022.
