An update on our familiarisation program

The success of these programs contributes greatly to BET’s goal of growing the value of the business events sector in Tasmania to $300M by 2028. Today, business events are worth $199 million to the Tasmanian economy. Twenty-eight per cent of visiting delegates bring at least one other person, twenty per cent explore regional Tasmania, and eighty-nine per cent of business visitors intend to return to Tasmania within the next three years, providing a further economic boost.
During the past few months at Business Events Tasmania (BET), we have been focused on the future and are excited about the opportunities that our upcoming familiarisations (famils) will bring to the state. Before the end of year, we are hosting three famils across Hobart and the south, Launceston and the north, and the East Coast regions. These famils will bring over 60 conference organisers, event planners, and key decision makers to Tasmania from the association, corporate meeting and incentive markets who have either never been to Tasmania before in a business event capacity or haven’t been for many years.
We’re currently finalising itineraries for our upcoming famils and are still looking for uniquely Tasmanian experiences that will leave a lasting impression on our clients.
The goal is to deliver our clients a carefully curated first-hand experience of Tasmania that disrupts the status quo and cuts through the repetitiveness of the market that they encounter elsewhere. We want to inspire our clients with hand crafted experiences that motivate them to return with their own business events.
