The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Marine Patrol Division is gearing up for another season of Boating Basics and License Courses offered at locations across the state. Each year, the Agency offers free in-person classes that allow interaction between local ALEA Troopers and provides students with more hands-on training. These courses also provide relevant and important information concerning specific bodies of waters that citizens in the area may visit frequently. Citizens who complete the Boating Basics course will receive a certificate in the mail after Troopers submit the individual’s information to the Agency’s Vessel Registration Unit. The Driver License Division will then add the vessel class to their Alabama Driver License. Please note that it may take up to 10 business days before the customer can go online to alabamadl.alea.gov or visit their nearest county probate office to purchase their updated Alabama Driver License. Children 12 years old or older are eligible for a vessel operator's license, however, they will not be able to operate alone until the age of 14. For more information, or to enroll in a class, please contact the Marine Patrol Instructor via the email provided on the schedule. A one-time application fee of $5 cash will be charged. SEC Football Standings Below are the overall SEC football team records. (As of October 11, 2025) Ole Miss 6-0 Missouri 5-1 Vanderbilt 5-1 Oklahoma 5-1 Texas A&M 6-0 Alabama 5-1 LSU 5-1 Tennessee 5-1 Georgia 5-1 South Carolina 3-3 Texas 4-2 Miss State 4-2 Arkansas 2-4 Florida 2-4 Auburn 3-3 Kentucky 2-3 Auburn To Face Baylor Bears in 2026 Aflac Kickoff Auburn Football will host Baylor in the Aflac Kickoff Game to open the 2026 season Sept. 5, 2026, at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The nation’s longest- running neutral-site game is setting a new standard in college athletics by creating a first-of-its-kind opportunity for Auburn student-athletes to engage in name, image and likeness (NIL) activations tied directly to ticket sales, the Aflac Kickoff Game, and surrounding events. Through a multi- million-dollar partnership, Peach Bowl, Inc., via the Aflac Kickoff Game, will work with third-party entities to secure marketing assets and promotional appearances by Auburn student-athletes, giving them meaningful visibility and new avenues to benefit from their NIL. “Any time we have the ability to advance Auburn student-athletes’ ability to earn third-party NIL compensation, we will take that opportunity,” said Auburn Athletics Director John Cohen. “The exposure of playing on a national stage against a Power Four opponent in one of the premier neutral-site games in the country will not only benefit our student-athletes financially, but it will also enhance their brands. This is not only a win for Auburn student-athletes but for Auburn Athletics.” The 2026 season opener will not only mark the sixth all-time meeting between Auburn and Baylor—following the Tigers’ 38–24 victory in Waco on August 31, 2024—but also showcase a groundbreaking, first-of-its- kind structure for neutral- site hosts. This new model represents a significant evolution in how marquee games are staged, adding unique opportunities and value beyond the matchup itself. The Tigers are playing

Jacksonville State University kicker Garrison Rippa continues to be a weapon for the Gamecocks football program. To quote the legendary coach Paul "Bear" Bryant, the term "ain't nothing but a winner" seems to be very fitting for Rippa during his collegiate career. The Jacksonville State sophomore kicked a career long 52-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Gamecocks to a 29-27 road victory over Sam Houston on Thursday, October 9. It was not the first time Garrison had made a game-winning kick, as he drilled a 27 yard field goal as time expired in overtime to help Jacksonville seal a 34-14 victory in the 2023 New Orleans Bowl. It was the program's first ever bowl game win. The Gamecocks are 4-3 this season following 38-25 midweek victory over Delaware on October 15, 2025. Jax State needs two more wins this year to reach Bowl eligibility for the third straight season.
