or daughters to grow up and be like you? As fathers and mothers we must in fluence our children for good because we cannot escape our responsibility. The only real way to do this is to live so close to our Saviour,' growing in Christian maturity and Christ-likeness, that somehow the light of His grace in our souls will shine out to them. What kind of a life are you living fa ther and mother? Whatever way you are going on the narrow road that leads to eternal life and the path toward the city of God, there is' -some little boy or girl who is following in your foot steps. WHAT IS /tauR MEASURE? In a small towyi there was a baker who had made it a habit to buy his butter from a neighboring farmer. As the days 'went by, however, he began to grow pety suspicious. The butter didn’t sie.rp. to maintain the same weight ' that it had' at 'the very first. The .baker imrhediatety concluded that he was being cheated. So, without hesi- , tation, he wept to the police depart- ■menbf to make a fu ll report of the farnier’s deception. When the case came to. trial y the judge called the farmer s before him and stated, “I presume you have weights by which you maintain your proper quantity output.” The en tire court room was filled with amuse ment when the farmer explained how he weighed the butter he sold. “You see,” he began, “when the baker here started buying his butter from me, 1 thought it was only right that I buy my bread from him. So, I started taking the one pound loaf he made and used that as the weight for the butter I sell. So, your honor, if the weight of the butter is wrong, he has only himself to blame.” Unfortunately such decep tion and dishonesty is all too prevalent in the world today, and sadly, even in the lives of certain so-called Christians. The Bible reminds us that we cannot compare ourselves with ourselves, or even with others. God’s Word is the only sure and accurate measure of righteousness. God cannot be fooled, for whatsoever we sow, that shall we reap.

I.” And we wonder why children go wrong. Are we dishonest in the payment of our faxes? Do we lie to people?. Our children see more than we think. You are responsible before the. Lord, for setting a proper example of Christ- likeness and godliness in character. If you are quarrelsome and irritable the tendency is for your children to become like you. If you are prejudiced WHAT HAVE I DONE TODAY? We shall do much in the year to come, But what have we done today? We shall give our gold in a princely sum, But what did we give today? We shall lift the heart and dry the tear. We shall plant a hope in the place of fear. We shall speak the words of love and cheer, But what did we speak today? We shall reap such joys in the by and by, But what have we sown today? We shall build us mansions in the sky, But what have we built today? 'Tis sweet in these idle dreams to bask, But here and now, do we do our task? Yes, this is the one thing pur hearts must ask: "What have I done today?" My father was a kind and gracious man. He loved the Lord. He was a loyal churchman. I never knew my father to lie. I never knew him to tell a smutty story. He was clean in his habits of life. I remember one day bursting into the room and finding my father kneeling in prayer. I tiptoed back out. My father not only talked about prayer, he prayed. I have never forgotten the character of my father and I always wanted to grow up to be like him. Would you want your son against a man of another race, calling him some scurrilous name, the chil dren will pick this up.
