WHEN MY SHIP COMES IN I'll help the poor and needy ones who wait on every hand, I'll send a bit of happiness to every race and land. I'll help to stem the current of this old world's woe and sin, I'll do my honest duty . . . when my ship comes in. I'll see that not an orphan child is left without the fold, I'll see that not a fireside anywhere around is cold. I'll scatter joy and comfort wise. When? Well, I shall begin Redeeming every promise . . . when my ship comes in. Meanwhile, I do as others do, I look through sun and gale, I scan the far horizon. But some day I will face the judgment Throng with all my human kin and say, "I. would have done it, Had my ship come in." FOUR THINGS Four things, I find, can comfort me when sick, Four very simple things I'm bound to say. But that's what you need when "in the thick:" Some simple thing Jo help you on your way. A tender smile that comes from those I love, A kindly word, whispered by those who care; A gentle touch. . . . as gentle as a dove And last, but never least, a little pray er. It is the Lord who ministers this grace, His children speak the word, but 'tis His voice, The tender smile I see upon His face, The touch is His. . . . in this I can rejoice.

NEVER ALONE I'm never alone in the morning As I rise at the break of day, For Jesus, who watched through the darkness, Says, "Lo, I am with you alway." I'm never alone at my- table, Though loved ones no longer I see; For dearer than all who have vanished, Is Jesus who breaks bread with me. I'm never alone through the daylight, Though nothing but trials I see; Though the furnace be seven times heated, The "form of the fourth" walks with me. I'm never alone at the twilight When darkness around me doth creep; And specters press hard round my pillow, He watches and cares while I sleep. I'm walking and talking with Jesus Each day as I journey along; I'm never alone, Hallelujah! The joy of the Lord is my song. HE MAKETH NO MISTAKE My Fathers way may twist and turn, My heart may throb and ache, But in my soul I'm glad I know, He maketh no mistake. My cherished plans may go astray, My hopes may fade away, But still I'll trust my Lord to lead For He doth know the way. Tho' night be dark and it may seem That day will never break; I'll pin my faith, my all in Him, He maketh no mistake. There's so much now I cannot see, My eyesight's far too dim; But come what may, I'll simply trust And leave it all to Him. For by and by the mist will lift And plain it all He'll make. Through all the way, tho' dark to me, He made not one mistake.
