3. Does it hurt? It doesn’t hurt. It’s just a tiny little poke, and we can make it as comfortable as possible by numbing the area. If you’re afraid of needles, it may be more challenging, but we will make the experience as comfortable as possible. 4. How long does Botox take, and how long do the effects last? It can be applied in just 30 minutes, so a lot of times people come in during their lunch hour. The effects last for about three months. After that, the effects will fade off and you’ll look natural. 5. Where can it be applied? Botox can be applied in the crows feet, forehead, and the lines around the mouth (known as the elevens). Veronica and Marisol took the time to answer some of the common questions we get about Botox on our Facebook page. Here’s the scoop on what these knowledgeable ladies have to say. 1. What is it, and how does it work? Botox is a type of toxin and such a small amount is injected that it is not harmful. 2. Will it look like I had work done? We can customize the amount that is suitable for you and if you desire, we can make it look natural. Everyone has different tastes about the look they want to have.

MANGO-GINGER SMOOTHIE

INGREDIENTS •

1 teaspoon honey

1/2 cup cooked red lentils, cooled 1 cup frozen mango chunks

Pinch of ground cardamom, plus more for garnish

3 ice cubes

3/4 cup carrot juice

1 teaspoon chopped fresh ginger

DIRECTIONS 1. Place lentils, mango, carrot juice, ginger, honey, cardamom and ice cubes in a blender. Blend on high until very smooth, 2–3 minutes 2. Serve in a cold glass, and garnish with more cardamom, if desired. To cook red lentils: Cook in boiling water until just tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and cool. (1 cup dry = 2 1/2 cups cooked.) Refrigerate for up to 3 days, or freeze in half-cup portions for up to 3 months and thaw before using.
