HALF-EDUCATED IS NOT ENOUGH

wrong plane. Again, in spite of his sincerity, he will arrive at the wrong destination. What we are saying is that sincerity is not the real test of truth. Unless a religion squares with the facts of history and human expe rience, agreeing with the truths of the Bible, it is just not good enough. Truth is truth, whether it is found in medicine, mathematics or science. In the final analysis, it is really the truth alone that counts. We believe that the Bible is indeed the Word of God. It is a supernatural revelation of what the Creator of the universe desires men to know and believe. It is the only infallible guide for faith and practice. The Bible is the unerring Supreme Court in the sphere of religion. Our own opin ions must be brought into conform ity with what the Scripture teaches. It does not indiscriminately sanction all religions. It properly and dogmat ically sets forth one faith and one alone. There is no other way to God and heaven (John 14:6). Proverbs 14:12 points out that “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Even though the course may seem right and be sin cerely followed, unless a person is walking in the right direction, the end of his journey is going to be death. This simply means exile from God and from His glory forever. Personal faith in Jesus Christ is the only way anyone can ever get to God and experience eternal salvation (John 10:9, Acts 4:12, I Corinthians 3:11). In that day of judgment which is yet to come, all other religious foundations are going to give way. Only faith in Christ will stand. It requires trust in the crucified Son of God to avail in that future hour. Why do you suppose the Bible re peatedly urges, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved”? Why not use the names of other great men and women who

In this day of complex technology, many young people are attending college to learn "how to make a living." A young person prepared only to make a living is just half-educatedl Here at Biola, we believe that education should do far more than simply prepare a young per son for a job. The most important half of educa tion is to prepare a young person in "how to LIVE!" Biola's curriculum is designed to educate young people in the abundant LIFE that is avail able in Jesus Christ (John 10:10). This is the LIFE that savesl This is the LIFE that loves and serves others! This is the LIFE that fulfills and satisfies the total person! This is the LIFE that is completel How to make a living will be the result of know ing how to live effectively for Jesus Christ. We invite YOU, as a friend of Biola, to help us maintain this Christian institution where young people receive an education for the total person. YOU can invest on a regular basis through The Biola Fellowship (see reverse side of this page).
