They take themcompletely by surprise and capturemost of them, along with their supplies, in less than an hour. After that first victory George Washington has against the British Empire on Christmas Day, he crosses another time and sneak-attacks the British again at Princeton on January 3, where they kill a British general and force a larger army to retreat.
They had defeated the world’s best army twice in a week!!
That was the shift of the American Revolution. We all know what happens from there.
