GOING TO HOLLYWOOD Around the start of the Internet boom, 1993 or so, a friend and I started a website that got some traction. You know all those Instagrammeme and joke accounts? It was basically that before smartphones. We had funny and gross videos, all of that stuff. We’d charge people $19 amonth for access and people loved it. One day I was inmy collision repair office (yes, I fixed cars and ran an internet site from the same place) and I got this email from a name I recognized: Tommy Lee. Yeah, it was that Tommy Lee. The drummer from Motley Crue. He was a subscriber, loved the site, and sent me a message:
“This site is cool as shit man. Keep sending me stuff!!”
I had to pinchmyself, Tommy Lee sent me an email!! In the 80s and 90sMotley Crue was the shit…so this was like, the greatest thing ever for me.
