“No one could pull that off.”

“Stop being a dreamer.”

“That takes more money than you have to make it work.”

Now, I use these statements as fuel to push me through all the hard parts.

When you’re an underdog, it doesn’t take a lot of work to get started. It’s usually pretty easy to make some progress. You have a lot of advantages that will help you (as detailed in the other chapters). But underdogs do have to deal with naysayers, and they are usually their friends or family. These are the people who probablymean well, but the fact is, they never did anything with their lives, and watching you succeed makes them think about the things they wished they did—but didn’t. That’s why they are telling you that you can’t do it. Everyone has a dream, andmost people discard it. And when anyone stands up and has the gall to try and reach their dream, so many people will consciously or subconsciously try and pull them back.
