PL635 Diagnosis and Remediation of Learning Disabil ities (3)

Methods used by psychologists and school specialists in the diagnosis and remediation of learning problems. State laws relating to placement of children and youth in special programs for remedial procedures. Prerequisite: P522, P690, and concurrent enrollment in a school psy­ chology practicum PL641 Group Therapy (4) Varied theoretical and process models for group intervention are examined. Experiential learning in the leader and client roles is incorporated in the course. Prerequisite: P602 and P690 PL642 Psychotherapy with Children (3) The nature and treatment of common emotional and behavioral problems of childhood . Special attention is given to parent counseling. Prerequisite: P572, P602, and P690

PL671 Marriage Counseling I (3), II (3)

A study of the literature and practice of marital therapy with special emphasis on diagnostic procedures and the application of specific counsel­ ing techniques to the resolution of conflict within the marital dyad. Brief consideration will also be given to premarriage and divorce as aspects of marriage counseling. Prerequisite: P621, P690, and concurrent enrollment in practicum PL702 Principles and Practices in Case Supervision (3) A seminar in case supervision. Students are responsible for supervising the professional experiences of less advanced students. Prerequisite: Permission of instructor PL740 Actualization Therapy A study of the counseling relationship and the process of therapy from a growth or actualization perspective: including selected theorists such as Roger, Gendlin, Perls, and selected certain existential therapists. Prerequisite: P602 and P690
