Last month, I featured an interview with our amazing dental hygienists Lauren, Janae, and Taylor. It went so well, I would be remiss if I didn’t take the time to chat with other members of the team who help keep the office running smoothly. Today, I would like to spotlight Katlyn and Melanie, our administrative assistants who know how to juggle a calendar.
people. I love getting to speak with patients when they come in and listen to stories about their travels or hear about a new granddaughter who was just born. I’m interested in pursuing a career in fashion design or writing eventually, but until I reach that stage in my life, I can’t imagine a better place to be.”
fun to hang out together. We really are friends. Our dental assistant, Lexi, recently bought a new house and invited us all to her housewarming. And once a year, the girls of the office all get together for a big party where we dress up, go out to a nice dinner, and hit the town. It’s great to work with people you genuinely like.” Melanie and Katlyn are some of the most energetic, dedicated people I have ever met. When a patient walks in to the office, whether it’s their first time or their 500th, I know they will find themselves in good hands right from the start. From everyone here at the office, we wish very happy holidays to you all. May you and your family be blessed with health and happiness in the new year!
Melanie joined the team back in April to give Katlyn a hand as our practice continues to grow. Not that Katlyn wasn’t able to handle the job on her own. After three years with her on the team, I know never to doubt her skills. “I enjoy this kind of work,” Katlyn says. “I’m going to school for business management and plan on being an office manager one day. Ideally, I’d like to manage an office as awesome as this one. Like Melanie said, our patients are just the best, and I’ve never had a job where I got along so well with my co- workers. We have a lot of fun together. For example, a while back, we all got breakfast together to celebrate my birthday.”

When you call to make an appointment or stop by the office, the people who handle the front desk are the first ones you talk to. This made finding the right administrative assistant a challenge. I’m really lucky to have such talented women who enjoy working at the office and interacting with the people who come here. “At my last job, I was at an insurance company,” says Melanie. “I spent all day holed up in a small office and never spoke to anyone. Now that I’m here, I get to interact with some really cool
“Even though her birthday was several months ago,” Melanie adds with a laugh.

“So it was a belated birthday breakfast,” Katlyn admits. “It was still so much
