Queensland Shared Services
Finance Modernisation Project
Published in 2024/25
Client Synopsis
What did they do?
Why did they do it?
• Agile implementation of a standardised catalogue of corporate services with SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition focused on finance and procurement • Slim model for HR org changes - Aurion remains source of truth for HR master data but SAP SuccessFactors and Ingentis allow the modelling of organisational changes and support security authorisation model • 2 releases across 21 client agencies planned for May and November 2026
• Infrastructure for ECC system end of life December 2026 • Manual time-consuming processes leading to delays and inefficiencies and poor user experiences. • Lacking the flexibility and scalability to quickly introduce new functions and capabilities • Taking over 12 months to complete changes to structures and processes in the system after elections (Machinery of Government; MoG)
• Queensland Shared Services (QSS) has operated for over 20 years providing finance, procurement and HR/payroll services to 42 Queensland Government departments, agencies, and legal entities covering 75,000 staff. • They run a single SAP ECC system for
finance, procurement hosted internally and using on-premise single metric (FTE based) licensing. Aurion is used for HR/payroll.
