turned to things concerning the Lord, the lady saying that she was studying Christian Science because so many of hér neighbors were Scientists and they were such lovely women. . We boarded the car. together and continued the conversation, and she soon saw how false Were the claims of Science to the word “ Christian.” W e spoke o f the danger of rejecting the truth, and presented and urged.the claims of Jesus Christ. When asked if she would not like to be saved, she replied that she would, but that it was so hard to understand how. W e tried to show her how by the simple illustration of boarding the car ; she had taken three steps up, and then trusted the car. The three steps in salvation are, (1) to believe God; what He says about us (Rom. 3:10), and what He says about Jesus Christ (1 Peter 2 :24); We have both in Isa. S3:6. (2) To receive Jesus Christ as Saviour (John 1:12). (3) To confess Jesus Christ as Lord (Rom. 10:9). She read the. Scrip tures and we explained their meaning to her, and there on that, car, surrounded by those passengers, she saw the truth and accepted Jesus Christ. W e bowed our heads in prayer and she told the Lord that she accepted Jesus Christ as her Saviour. Then she spoke of her father’s and mother’s concern for her because she had taken up Christian Science and how they had been praying for her. Said she, “Won’t father be glad when I go home and tell him I am saved !”

And then I was told how God had sent me to the home in answer to her prayers! She had been so burdened for this son and his wife, and had prayed so earnestly for God to send some one to them! Now she said that in the home o f her brother-in-law (which was her home) they daily prayed for the lady who had led her son and his wife to Christ. “Be not weary in well doing, for in due season, ye shall reap if ye faint not.” It was the Bible Woman’s vacation and she was enjoying a rest, so when she packed her Bible Woman’s bag that day, she left out the accustomed Bible and substituted a small Testament with a few “ Have You Heard?” cards in case o f emergency. Before starting out she knelt down as usual to ask God’s guidance and presence, com mitting the afternoon to Him. She was on her way to San Pedro to meet a friend arriving on a boat from the north, and while waiting for the San Pedro car she saw a lady also waiting for the same car. A conversation was started which naturally

I T does seem as though the greatest need of these perilous times was a call to true repentance and prayer. We are sure that God is seeking to reach the heafts and consciences o f Christian workers along these lines, equally with the entire church. The call to the nations to come back to God, and we to our knees, is imperative,
and yet real prevailing prayer becomes in creasingly difficult amid the awful rush and hurry of these days, as new doors are open ing and calls to service increase. “ Did you get out to see that man at the hospital yet?” we were asked the other day. “ Not yet, too, busy,” was the reply. “Well, there is no use in going now.
