THE KING’S BUSINESS

BEGINNERS AND PRIMARY

By Mrs. A. L. Dennis. ( With Jesus on the Mountain.)

than anything they had ever seen. The Bible says it was shining and glistering. If any o f you little people have seen the sun shining on the snow it might help you to know-how it may have looked. They saw that He was no longer alone, but that two men were talking with Him. Now, they had never seen these men before, but they knew who they were. One o f them; when a baby on earth, had floated on the river in a basket-boat and been found by the king’s daughter. Yes—Moses, but he had, been with God for many years. The other one lived a long time after Moses. He went to live with God without dying. This had happened many years before. So Moses, Elijah, and the Lord Jesus talked together on the mountain, and Peter and James, and John really saw and heard them. It was so wonderful that Peter would have liked to have stayed forever, but the Lord Jesus had called him to be a helper and there was much work waiting to be done. A beautiful white cloud came down over the Lord Jesus, and a Voice said, “ This is my beloved S on : Hear Him.” When they looked about they saw nobody but their Master, who looked just as He did every day as He went about “ doing good.” He told them not to tell the others what they had seen, just yet. Because they believed He was the Son o f God, He had let these three see Him as He truly is. We know that some day we too will see Him as they did, because we believe what God said in the mountain that day: “ This is my beloved Son : hear Him.” Prayer —Thanking Him for the hope in our hearts o f seeing Him.

TyfEMORY VERSE : “ This is My •*- beloved Son, hear ye Him.” Preparation .—I have a box here with something in it. I am going to let Mary come up and take a peep and tell you what she has seen. Mary has told you what it is. How many of you truly believe that is what I have in.this box? Why? Because you believe that Mary speaks the truth. I am glad so many o f you believe what Mary has said. You have .faith in her. Per haps sometime I may let you look' in, too, but I would not be treating Mary right if I let somebody look in who did not believe what she said. I think God means some thing like this when He tells us that those who believe that Jesus is the Son o f God shall some day see Him as He truly is. He has never promised this to those who do not believe. Shall we bow our heads and thank God that We believe Him when He says, “This is My Beloved Son, hear ye Him.” That is the reason we expect some day to see Him. Presentation .—There were many people in that country who had seen the wonder ful things that the Lord Jesus did and yet did not truly believe that He was the Son o f God. There were three who really did. They told Him so. That is the reason I /can tell you this story today. One day He asked Peter and James and John to take a walk with Him. They went far away from the cities, up the side of a very high mountain. Now, because they .truly believed, Jesus was going to let them see a very wonderful thing. As He was pray ing, His face became changed and shone brightly and His clothes became whiter
