crane for training does not have a telescopic boom extension function, the risks of such must be covered (e.g. in relation to the shifting position of the hook and risk of hand crushing for manual extension)
Power hoist lifting exercises shall be performed on a static anchor point
Note
The participants shall:
Participate in the practical lifting exercises as operator and as slinger signaller
Demonstrate safe use of the crane and hoist during the different scenarios during the practical exercises
Apply principles of dropped object intervention, including correct selection and use of tethering and appropriate storage
Receive and reflect on the given feedback
ELEMENT 9.3 - EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
Learning objectives:
70) The participants can apply emergency procedures following relevant manufactures’ manuals and relevant local legislation (Skills, intermediate level)
71) The participants can take responsibility to follow relevant emergency procedures (Ability, intermediate level)
Emergency scenarios may be presented by verbal examples, conducted in a simulator or simulated on the operating equipment
Note
The instructor shall:
Present relevant emergency scenario cases
Observe the participant’s reactions and ask clarifying questions to evaluate the participants’ understanding of the relevant safety and emergency reaction
Observe and assess if the participants can apply the emergency action/procedures in a controlled safe manner
