The programme is designed to develop the next generation of leaders, by providing them with the skills, knowledge and intellectual tools to be able to initiate change and make a difference in the world. The programme is structured around a global challenges theme that explores vital issues such as climate change, sustainable development, migration, terrorism, inequality and poverty, and how they affect the world in which we live.

This degree will provide you with knowledge in a combination of disciplines; politics, philosophy, development studies, public policy, law, management and media, which are woven together to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of key global issues, of decision- making processes, and the methods to investigate and advocate potential solutions for change. You will examine societal problems and challenges that transcend state borders, acquiring the skills necessary to develop and champion innovative and sustainable solutions that have the potential to improve people’s lives. The programme is offered within the School of Social Sciences but has been specifically designed to take advantage of the portfolio of modules and expertise offered across the entire Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. It is therefore unique in offering students a truly inter-disciplinary and integrated approach to the challenges faced by modern day society in a leadership context.
