You will learn and understand how fundamental physics underpins the latest advances of the discipline and how applying physics leads to innovations in engineering, medicine and technology. Our teaching is informed by the latest research, including, the anti-matter ALPHA Collaboration at CERN. Our broad range of BSc and MPhys projects reflect the research interests of the department and include the possibility of a master's project at CERN. Through our state-of-the-art facilities you will be introduced to research. Whether it is designing the next-generation photovoltaics, observing ultra-fast processes using lasers, or using high-performance computing to model dense quark matter.
