ACADEMIC AND PASTORAL SUPPORT Swansea Academy of Inclusivity and Learner Success (SAILS) provides inclusive academic and pastoral support for our diverse student population. Working with colleagues across the University, SAILS ensures inclusive learning, teaching and assessment is accessible to all students, that you have access to the opportunities available, and all students are supported to reach your full potential.

LEARNING IN WELSH We are proud to be a Welsh institution, and we offer the option of learning in the Welsh language, offering a Welsh-medium provision in every faculty. From degree courses which are completely taught in Welsh, to courses where some modules are offered in Welsh, or in some departments it is possible to have Welsh language seminars and tutorials for modules which are mainly taught through the medium of English. Swansea University works in partnership with the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol and the University’s branch is situated within Academi Hywel Teifi. Academi Hywel Teifi provides support and assistance to students wishing to study through the medium of Welsh, as well as providing opportunities to socialise with other Welsh speakers. swansea.ac.uk/academi-hywel-teifi

CENTRE FOR ACADEMIC SUCCESS The Centre for Academic Success will support you in developing your academic study skills to achieve your goals. You can maximise your potential and develop confidence through a range of courses, workshops, and one-to-one tutorials, helping you bridge the gap between where you are and where you need to be. swansea.ac.uk/academic-success

ADDITIONAL TEACHING SUPPORT We understand that the transition to university study can take some getting used to, so we offer a range of additional support through our academies and training centres, in addition to that provided by your faculty. We are committed to enabling access to all students, helping you to thrive in your studies. We offer a range of support, including making special arrangements for assessments, providing additional equipment and library services. Our Transcription Centre provides course and library materials in several formats, including electronic text, large print, braille, accessible PDF files, tactile diagrams, DAISY audio books as well as print transcriptions of audio recordings.
