WHAT DO YOU NEED? Applicants are considered on their own merits and offers may vary, however we guarantee that you will be made a conditional offer for a course at Swansea University.* The typical offer is listed on the subject pages in this prospectus as three A Levels, but we are happy to accept a range of other qualifications so please check the individual course pages on our website for more detailed and subject specific criteria at: swansea.ac.uk/undergraduate/courses Applicants should normally hold GCSE English or Welsh at grade C (4) or above (or equivalent). We also welcome a wide range of other qualifications, plus we are constantly reviewing the acceptability of new qualifications, so if you are taking exams not listed please contact the Admissions Office. Students who are able to extend their three A Levels by undertaking additional study, such as any additional A Level(s), or other qualifications, are encouraged to do so. We believe that additional study, in a variety of forms, can help you prepare for the demands of university. We also acknowledge that different schools and colleges offer a different range and number of subjects – those not able to do so will not be disadvantaged.

ADVANCED WELSH BACCALAUREATE We welcome the graded Advanced Welsh Baccalaureate qualification and applicants will be able to meet our requirements from three A Levels or two A Levels and the Skills Challenge Certificate. A selection of Individual Project Proposals relating to a variety of Swansea University subject areas can also be found on the WJEC website. EPQ* We recognise the Extended Project Qualification as an excellent indicator of success on our schemes of study. Applicants predicted grade B or above in EPQ will receive an offer with a one grade reduction. eg, a offer of AAB would become ABB plus EPQ B. We encourage applicants to describe EPQ research within the UCAS personal statement, particularly when relevant to their intended course and/or career. Variation in qualifications in schools and colleges in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland: We recognise the variation in qualifications to GCSEs, AS and A Levels in England, alongside different qualifications frameworks in Wales and Northern Ireland.
