The growing recognition of the importance of the Early Years in Wales means that this is a key time to provide specific education and training for those wanting to work with infants, toddlers and young children in a professional capacity. This degree has its roots in our Welsh context to ensure issues central to Welsh children and families are considered in every module taught, supported by research-informed lectures, and 700 hours of placement in primary schools and early childhood centres in Wales. The degree is embedded in an early childhood education philosophy where the child is at the heart of the societal issues, and students learn about the best ways of supporting children’s learning through following their interests in order to support lifelong learning skills. This qualification means that our graduating students will be fully qualified to immediately enter the workforce in a range of early childhood settings. You will earn qualified Early Years Practitioner Status (EYPS).
