The Swansea University Schools’ Partnership (SUSP) delivers high-quality, research and practice integrated programmes for trainee school-teachers in the primary and secondary sectors. The PGCE courses are one year, full-time postgraduate programmes that prepare graduates to become confident, research-informed, reflective teachers in primary, secondary and all age schools. Our PGCE programmes will allow you to develop teaching skills across the primary or secondary phase and make you familiar with the new curriculum in Wales. You will work with experienced, enthusiastic university tutors and mentors in our partnership schools across South Wales to develop and reflect upon your own teaching practice. The PGCE is a one year, full-time, 36-week course developed and delivered collaboratively by the Swansea University Schools’ Partnership (SUSP). Throughout the academic year, you will spend 120 days on school placements and 60 days in University-based provision. These teaching placements will enhance your knowledge of teaching and the curriculum, and also deepen your understanding of how children learn and develop. The skills, knowledge, and school experience offered will enable you to become a successful, qualified teacher in either the primary or secondary sector.

TYPICAL MODULES INCLUDE: • Research-informed Reflective Practice • Professional Practice and Placement MODULES DELIVERED IN WELSH: • 35 hours of Welsh instruction for all student teachers of all levels • Additional modules offer bilingual Welsh / English elements • Placement modules delivered in Welsh

Typical Offer: A n honours degree at a minimum of 2:2 in a relevant subject , or a related subject with at least 50% relevant subject content.
