The present atheistic association is desirous of indoctrinating these individuals so they no longer will have mere doubts about the exist ence of a Supreme Being. They will actually disbelieve and deny His existence. They, in turn, will be able to go and sow “ the gospel of athe ism” far and wide. Mrs. Murray was the one who first attracted national attention when she joined in the suit which led to the Supreme Court’s ruling against prayer and Bible reading in the public schools. Pres ently she is heading up a suit in Maryland, designed to end tax ex emptions for religious properties, stating as the reason, “ because re ligion should not be supported with Who But God? Who but God could make a flower, Crlmson-heued or yellow gold; Whose soft petals, kissed by dewdrops To the summer sun unfold? Who but God could make the sun shine, Flooding earth with warmth and light, Who but God could make the moon beams Or the stars that shine at night? Who but God could send the children Down from heaven, the earth to bless, Just like living sunbeams are they, Glowing in their happiness. Hear the children as they hail Him In the songs they gladly sing, Let us now adore and worship A ll creation's mighty King. tax money.” All o f this adds up to the alarming fact that a group of militant atheists are out to eliminate all references to God in all walks of public life. The discouraging fact is that so many complacent Christians and Christian leaders are so con cerned with their own little immedi ate interests that they fail to issue any kind of clarion call against this blasphemous enterprise. They do not raise their voices in a united dec laration this is still one nation “ un der God” and that He must be still recognized as the “ God of our fa thers.” May He help us to awaken to the perilous times in which we and our children live. Surfeited and lulled to complacency with creature comforts, while so many subtle and under cover activities are taking place, we are in danger of losing our very lib erty to worship God, which we are so prone to take for granted. — Valeria R.
