West Virginia’s Greenbrier River Trail

The 77-mile Greenbrier River Trail weaves a path through lush forest and rural small towns in West Virginia’s Allegheny Highlands, along the longest undammed river in the eastern United States. Designated as both an inductee to Rails to Trails Conservancy’s Hall of Fame and a U.S. Millennium Legacy Trail since its creation in the 1980s, the Greenbrier River Trail has served as a treasured natural and recreational retreat and economic engine for residents and visitors of the region for more than 45 years. Learn more and access detailed maps with waypoints at rtc.li/wv-greenbrier-river-trail and greenbrierrivertrail.com . Read more about the trail in our cover story on p. 8.
