Another notable visit was with ReVamped Ltd near Spalding, with a demonstration of its innovative app for small builders, along with warm hospitality featuring afternoon tea and charming pygmy goats. The National Construction College impressed with its specialised apprenticeship programmes and top-notch facilities. Nicola was involved in discussions at Kidderminster College and presented one of the Jewson Live Awards, highlighting the importance of collaboration and sustainability. Throughout this inspiring week, Nicola was surrounded by the passion, creativity, and commitment driving FMB members. “It is the people behind the projects who form the true heart of our FMB, and their dedication is inspiring,” Nicola said.
Central Director, Nicola de Sousa, recently embarked on a whirlwind tour of the region, meeting passionate members and stakeholders who are dedicated to supporting them. From thought-provoking discussions at the Build for the Future: East Midlands event in Lincoln to site visits with enthusiastic and friendly FMB members, each encounter provided insights into the challenges and opportunities facing members in the region. FMB members Fordson Developments invited Nicola to its latest project near Peterborough, which involves dismantling and relocating a Victorian railway station brick by brick for the Nene Valley Railway, making space for a National Highways infrastructure project. This undertaking demonstrates the skill, adaptability, and patience of the Fordson team when faced with such a complex challenge.
