WARKWORTH A castle in the sky
40 Years of memories “Rowing down the river and spotting all the wildlife. We also loved being able to enjoy a variety of walks straight from our cottage.” “Brilliant beach and lots of choice for eating out and the locals were very welcoming.” “We booked a surfing lesson for ourselves and two teenage children. We have not laughed so much as a family for ages.”
This picturesque medieval village is enclosed by a winding loop of the River Coquet and the skyline is dominated by the remains of Warkworth Castle. The castle is owned by English Heritage and is a popular location for many events and outdoor theatre throughout the year. This unspoilt village has many interesting shops and galleries and there is a good selection of tea rooms, pubs and restaurants. Warkworth Bay is a mile from the village and has a quiet very dog friendly beach. Warkworth’s 9-hole links course is located just outside of the village and offers stunning views of the coastline.
