A great young female that originated from the Goss firm! We purchased this gilt at OYE after she wrapped up a great show career. While she has a pedigree that reads like a Who’s Who in the Crossbred showpig industry, we are equally impressed with her phenotypically. Pay attention to this one, this should be fun.

This young sow originated from the Lackey firm. She was lot 1 in their “pick of the gilts” sale. After a fun show career, she has already proven herself as a generator. Her HMB 71 litter produced several winners, including the solid white barrow that the Qualls family had a lot of success with. Obviously, we’re excited to have this one around. During layover for Expo, Drake Hook was nice enough to show us around his place. While we were really there looking at his Durocs, I really locked into a blue crossbred sow that he had. A few months later, he brought a blue gilt out of that Skywire x Visionary sow to the Girls Night Out sale in Oklahoma. Needless to say we ended up with her and couldn’t he happier. She had a great show career, hanging banners regularly. We are excited to have this young female and look forward to seeing what she produces for us.

We want to thank all of the families that have invested time, effort, and money into swine projects from us. You letting us into your and your children’s lives have made this a venture worth the taking. We truly love raising livestock and seeing young people grow and learn in the agriculture industry. Agriculturists have a responsibility to introduce young people to this way of life.

We also want to give a special thanks to Wamsley for all the hours he has put in. Having someone at the farm who deeply cares about livestock and their wellbeing is a blessing. He is a critical part of what has made this Fall 2022 season possible.

This young female originated from the Goss firm where she had a successful show career through OYE where she did well in the lightweight division. Ally Scammahorn purchased her after OYE and took her to Expo ‘21 where she won her class. After watching Ally in class at Expo and seeing her stoutness of structure while still remaining flexible, I knew we needed to add this female to the sow pen. Needless to say, we are excited to see her babies in the show pen. These babies are exciting and improve daily.

Everyone knows that we shouldn’t have favorites in a pig barn, but if you ask Steven who his favorite Crossbred female is, I bet 3-3 would be at the top of the list. This sow came to us from the Goss firm as a show prospect. Steven showed her and her littermate sister at lots of Majors as well as some fun jackpots. When the show fun was over we brought the belted sister home and Blake took the Calico to his house. In the first season, Blake raised several winners out of his sow, as well as SIDE PIECE, the $75k boar that stands at Southern Superior Sires. We have had several winners out of 3-3 and feel that this is her best mating yet.

In her first litter with us, she produced the gilt that Kaia Codding won multiple shows with, finishing at OYE as 10th Overall, as well as multiple barrows and gilts that won shows across the Country. In her next litter, she produced a very consistent set of gilts that won a lot of shows and finished at Tulsa, winning 1st, 2nd and 4th in class as well as Champion Duroc Gilt. We are excited to introduce THE DEALER! He has been a fun one to watch grow up, and one that caused a little bit of discontent amongst the family when we wouldn’t con- sider making him a show barrow, but I’m glad that we “knew when to hold ‘em”. While we all agree that he would have made a very fun barrow to show, we felt like it would be a disservice to the industry if we didn’t allow him to make A LOT of great barrows. This guy has a big back leg, is unbelievably flexible and offers an unforget- table look. As far as pedigree goes, this one screams WINNER! His sire is the current Pig Planet Duroc Man Of The Year (DEAL WITH IT) and he is out of what many breeders would say is the highest producing Duroc sow alive (BACKDRAFT’S MOTHER).
