When Did You Fall In Love With Florida?

I clearly remember the moment many years ago when I fell in love with Florida. I was 14 years old, exploring Pinellas County by an open-windowed car with my older cousins around 10 o’clock at night. At a stoplight, I happened to look up at

many places and things to love, and so different. So we set out looking for the different.

What we found is a place you might call a “hidden treasure” of Lee County, historic and charming Boca Grande. Then, we discovered that perhaps to your surprise, Southwest Florida is fast becoming one of the nation’s top hotbeds for ice — youth hockey — with two of the top ranked youth teams in the country here. And then, here comes this local artist who’s uncovered a whole new form of art, by painting with both sides of the paint. Yes, both sides.
