really start to ramp up. Animal lovers can enjoy an English and Western horse show put on by local riders starting at 9:30 a.m., and then afterwards there will be horse-drawn wagon rides. Younger children can play in the kids area, shoppers can browse goods brought by local craftspeople at the Country market, and the exhibition hall will once again be open for viewing. Roger Hamelin and Friends will start their live music set at 1 p.m. accompanied by refreshments from the beer garden, all the way until 6 p.m. when the truck pull starts. Afterwards, Shot of Whiskey will rock on and jam out all the way until 1 a.m. Sunday’s closing events will be a bit calmer in comparison, but no less fun. The RAS will hold a brunch at 9:30 a.m., which will end just in time for the antique tractor pull at 11 a.m. There will be a few more events throughout the day before Fridge Full of Empties closes out the Fair with another live music show. This year’s Riceville Fair is sponsored by a large assortment of local businesses, community groups, and organizations,.
The Riceville Fair makes its annual return starting August 25. The Riceville Agricultural Society (RAS) is putting on its annual Ricevillle Fair from August 25 to 27. Located at 4029 County Road 16 in Riceville, the yearly event will have food, drinks, games, exhibits, live music, entertaining shows for the whole family, and a variety of amazing prizes. The fun starts on Friday at 9 a.m. as vendors set up their exhibits in the Agricultural Society Hall. Visitors can view the displays with a selection of food from the chip stand, and later on at 7 p.m. the Fair will be giving away prizes for bingo. “Our Board of Directors have been wor- king hard to bring you another great fair filled with fun activities and attractions,” said RSA President Jennifer Fraser. “We have a great lineup of music in the beer garden again this year so you can dance the afternoon and evening away.” The next day on August 26 is when things
