Resultsconcludedthatthosewhoparticipatedinexerciseinterventions hada23%decrease infallsascomparedtothecontrolgroup.Therisk offall-relatedfractureswasdecreasedby27%,andthenumberoffalls that requiredmedical attention was decreased by 39%. Concluding statements from the authors noted how overall, “Exercise reduces boththerateoffalls…andthenumberofpeopleexperiencingfalls.”

One-thirdofthepopulationovertheageof65experiencesafalleach year. Every 11 seconds, an older adult is rushed to the emergency room for a fall. Every 19 minutes, an older adult dies from a fall.
