During high temperature and humidity conditions the risk of suffering heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke increase for everyone spending moderate to large amounts of time outside without taking adequate protec- tion measures. Seniors, infants and very young children, and people with some chronic health conditions like heart problems or asthma may be more at risk for heat-related illnesses. Residents should check local weather fore- casts and take precautions, including keeping air conditioners or fans turned on indoors
to help provide some cooling air conditions. Levert a déclaré que son expérience de plusieurs décennies en tant que chef d’entreprise dans la région, ainsi que son expérience passée en tant que conseiller municipal, font de lui la personne idéale pour être à l’écoute des gens. « Je suis impatient d’aller à la rencontre des gens et de discuter avec eux », a déclaré M. At the time the high heat and humidity conditions were expected to last at least two days. Temperatures began to drop from the mid- to high-30s after the Canada Day thunderstorms until they reached the low 20s by the weekend.

Un ancien conseiller municipal de Clarence-Rockland espère siéger à nouveau au conseil municipal. Michel Levert, qui s’était présenté pour la première fois et avait remporté le siège du quartier 7 de Clarence-Rockland lors des élections municipales de 2014 en battant de justesse le candidat sortant, a officiellement déposé sa candidature et brigue un nouveau mandat en tant que conseiller du quartier 7 (Hammond et Cheney). Ce quartier est actuellement représenté par Trevor Stewart, qui avait battu M. Levert lors des élections de 2022 pour un siège au conseil municipal de Clarence-Rockland. M. Stewart a annoncé en début d’année qu’il ne se représenterait pas, garantissant ainsi l’arrivée d’un nouveau représentant pour ce quartier cet automne. À l’heure où nous mettons sous presse, M. Levert est le seul candidat inscrit pour se présenter dans ce quartier. « Je souhaite poursuivre l’excellent travail accompli par M. Stewart, non seulement pour notre circonscription, mais aussi pour notre WJMMFv BEÊDMBSÊ-FWFSUj/PUSFWJMMFFTUFO pleine croissance, et il est important que nous tenions nos habitants informés non seulement de ce qui se passe dans leur propre circonscription, mais aussi de ce qui se passe dans l’ensemble de la ville. J’ai déjà été cette voix pour les citoyens, et je souhaite l’être à nouveau. »
