These student-athletes’ selections come just a month after UJ Goalkeeper, Coach Mr Lucky Shiburi, assisted the Under-17 National Team in late August 2023.

Six UJ senior and junior women footballers have been called to assist the South African football teams in the upcoming COSAFA Women’s Championship and the World Cup Qualifying matches this month. Regular Banyana Banyana features, Sphumelele and Thubelihle Shamase (twin sisters) and newcomers Karabo Mohale and Kabelo Mokoena, have been called to join Banyana Banyana in camp from 4 to 15 October 2023 for the COSAFA tournament. Mohale and Mokoena played a crucial role in UJ’s Varsity Football tournament run this year in Tshwane and the Hollywoodbets Super League matches. Sandra and Adrielle Mibe have been called to play for the Junior Under-20 Women’s National Team, which took on Burundi’s junior
