SDA Rooftop Gardens Considerations Checklist: • Refer to NDIS SDA Design Standard. • Consideration given to the provision of raised garden beds • Consideration given to the accessibility of fixed features of rooftop gardens (eg. fixed furniture, clothesline, BBQ etc). • Rooftop areas allow for placement of furniture, and other movable objects, and simultaneously maintains adequate space for circulation of mobility aids.

High Density Landscaping Considerations Checklist: • Consider provision of communal clothes drying facility for residents. • Cluster public and communal furniture and fixtures where possible. • Provide both shaded and unshaded seating options to encourage people outdoors in both warmer and cooler weather. • Some seating shall have backrests and armrests. Low Density Landscaping Considerations Checklist: • Make provision for outside clotheslines appropriate to the size of the dwelling located such that it receives direct sunlight (minimum of 2500mm wide and 4 lines deep). • Ensure that there is appropriate pedestrian access to the line (nom. 1000mm wide path). • Front and back yards to have external cold water taps. • Storage shed to be provided to all standalone dwellings minimum size to be 2.25m (w) x 0.78m (d) .
