D3.01

Design criteria electrical Section Summary

Electrical fittings and fixtures must be installed to code, tested, and certified by a qualified installer. All electrical fixtures and fittings are to be high quality, efficient and readily available. Design Criteria Electrical Considerations Checklist: • Electrical installation to comply with the following: ○ National construction code. ○ Relevant Australian Standards. ○ Electrical Wiring Rules AS/NZS 3000 ○ Electrical Supply Authority requirements. • Check placements of telephone, electrical, TV outlets etc against furniture layout locations. • All electrical appliances must have a minimum warranty period of 2 years. Lighting (general) Section Summary All electrical light fittings must be high quality, efficient and readily available. Lighting Considerations Checklist: • Preference for 3000K warm white colour temperature. Avoid cool whites where possible. • LED strip lighting and fittings are acceptable. • Task lighting provided directly above kitchen workspaces. • Task lighting provided directly above bathroom vanity/basin.

• Although not a statutory requirement, emergency power solutions to cater for a minimum two-hour outage where the welfare of participants is at risk is preferred. Provision of emergency power also requires fire rated cabling. Feasibility of this is to be discussed with Housing Choices on a project by project basis. • Data cabling provided from OOA data rack to comms cupboard, with connection to lift control box – ensure enough cable is provided to control all levels within building. • Lifts are to have: ○ variable door closing rate i.e. delayed at accessible dwelling levels. ○ Self-levelling platform with the floor. ○ Voice annunciation. ○ WiFi capability to allow compatibility with assistive technology (ie. Lift control via personal device such as tablet or smartphone). ○ Raised, backlit and Braille numerals and symbols on the call and operations buttons.

• Lighting within SDA dwellings is compatible with assist technology to allow for future remote operation of lights from personal device (ie. Tablet). • Task lighting provided directly above kitchen workspaces. • Task lighting provided directly above bathroom vanity/basin. • Switches to be larger rocker Clipsal Modena 800 Series
