ABOUT SWVS Southwest Veterinary Symposium is a partnership of the Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas VMAs, as well as the Oklahoma Veterinary Technician Association, Arkansas Veterinary Technician Association, New Mexico Registered Veterinary Technician Association and the Veterinary Team Association of Texas. We provide continuing education for veterinary professionals in the Southwest region and the nation. Symposium profits are returned to the partner states. LOST AND FOUND Located in Room 101 • Thursday 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM • Friday 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM • Saturday 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM • Sunday 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM TITER DETERMINATION & RABIES VACCINATION CLINIC SWVS offers you the opportunity to have blood drawn for a titer determination. Blood will be drawn on Saturday, then packaged and shipped to a laboratory for titer determination. Results will be sent from Kansas State University with an estimated turnaround time of six to eight weeks. Cost of the titer will be $130. If it has been a relatively long time (5 or more years) since you have had a rabies booster vaccination or a titer determination, you may elect to have a booster vaccination instead of having a titer run. Cost of the vaccination will be $400. Rabies vaccinations will not be available on-site if you do not register for the vaccine. RACE APPROVAL STATEMENT The American Association of Veterinary State Boards RACE committee has reviewed and approved the program referenced above as meeting the Standards adopted by the AAVSB.

CE CREDIT INFORMATION More than 450+ hours of quality continuing education courses are offered at SWVS 2024. A maximum of 29 credit hours are available during the general symposium. MEDIA REGISTRANTS Press and media must register with SWVS prior to attending the symposium. Press credentials will be issued to authorized media. SAFETY Our goal is to provide a safe environment for everyone. There is a chance that overcrowding could occur in some lectures. SWVS must comply with the fire marshal’s policies to ensure we are safe, so if a meeting room is at capacity, no one else will be allowed in the room until it is safe to do so. We ask for your understanding and patience should this occur. Plan to arrive early for a specific lecture if you wish to participate. GUESTS Guests, spouses and children are all welcome on the SWVS tradeshow floor. Guest/spouse tickets are $80 each (not including lunch) and are for family members or guests who are not veterinarians, veterinary technicians, office staff, or practice managers. Guests 17 and under do not need a ticket. No guests or children under 17 are allowed in CE sessions. CONTINUING EDUCATION
CE CREDIT INFORMATION SWVS is a continuing education provider and offers 450+ hours of quality CE courses for Veterinarians, Veterinary Students, Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Technician Students, Veterinary Assistants, Practice Managers and Office Staff. SWVS is owned by five partner state VMAs, each of which is an affiliate of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). These state veterinary medical exam boards accept/ approve SWVS for CE credit. Registrants from other states should check with their state Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners regarding approval of SWVS CE credit. A maximum of 29 CE credit hours are available for the SWVS General Symposium. Additional credit hours are available as listed below. In addition, DVMs licensed in Arkansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma or Texas may claim 2 hours of CE for visiting the SWVS Exhibit Hall. Please check with your state veterinary medical licensing board for specific CE allowances and requirements. It is the individual’s responsibility to maintain and submit CE records as required. Attendees are encouraged to consult their state licensing board for specific allowances and any restrictions on the number of hours accepted for specialty and non-science sessions (practice management).
CONTINUING EDUCATION VERIFICATION IN 3 EASY STEPS Three simple steps are required to obtain the SWVS CE Certificateof Completion. 1 CHECK-IN – Upon arrival at the Fort Worth Convention Center, check-in at the registration area, where your badge will be scanned to verify your attendance. You only need to scan your badge once. 2 TRACK YOUR ATTENDANCE – Use the Record of Participation found in this onsite guide to log each CE session you attend. 3 CE CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION – At the conclusion of the Symposium, your CE Certifricate and a CE Checklist will be emailed to you to fill out. It is then your responsibility to submit your CE to your state board. SWVS does not submit CE reports for attendees.
