BLACKBERRY LEMONADE

Hana Colvin | Director of Culinary Excellence | Corporate During my time in Huntsville, we hosted a social media conference celebrating the city’s growth and energy. I wanted the group to experience a true taste of Alabama, so I looked to the state fruit for inspiration - blackberries. We baked scones topped with raw sugar and served them with jars of blackberry compote. In the lobby, guests were welcomed with a drink that highlighted those same bright berries, and this is inspired by that.

Ingredients

1 sprig mint

5 blackberries

1.5 packets raw sugar

3 oz fresh lemon juice

3 oz sparkling water

Lemon wheel

Instructions

1.Muddle mint, 4 blackberries, and sugar in a shaker. 2.Add lemon juice and half the sparkling water, shake with ice.

3.Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. 4.Top with the remaining sparkling water. 5.Garnish with lemon and a blackberry.
