Continued from page 5 remember that all life before the Week of Creation, the millions of years of dinosaurs and associated crea- tures, was part of the Pre-Adamic period. This is before the Earth became without form (Heb-tohu) and void (Heb-bohu) (see Gen 1:2). As far as the origins of man or any creatures alive today, we can safely ignore the so-called “early fossil record”. Though the theory evolution purports that life came from a primordial ooze, the law of biogenesis states that life must come from preexisting life (i.e. God). Evolution argues that life changes randomly over great scales of time, but the Bible agrees with the law of biogenesis and shows us that God created life with tre- mendous biodiversity, capable of generating varied life within individual “kinds” with great adaptability. Evolution also asserts that man is destined to slowly become something completely different over time – maybe sharks, crabs, or something totally new? God’s word clearly shows us that our destiny is to become spirit beings as part of the God-kind. We don’t know exactly how many kinds there are and what creatures are exactly a part of each. We should be comfortable knowing that these answers exist, even if they are beyond us now. Paul was inspired to record in I Corinthians 13:11-12, When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I under - stood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known. God knows all the answers. He has given each of us enough knowledge to counter this false idea of evolu- tion. For now, we are required to learn, prove all things and hold fast to that which is good before we too can have all the answers. Creation did not come about in vain or by chance. God makes everything with purpose, and none of His cre- ation has more purpose or potential than mankind.
Continued from page 17 From time to time, reading an applicable psalm during prayer can help focus our supplications to God. Produces Results The early new testament Church saw many mighty miracles and may also offer examples of how heartfelt thoughtful prayer can be effective producing real re - sults. Acts 4:31 illustrates the results of one dynamic prayer: And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness. We must also be persistent in our prayers. The parable of the persistent widow found in Luke 18:2-8 reinforc - es this principle. Her continual requests prompted jus- tice from an unjust judge. Christ explained that God’s elect, persistent in prayer, will likewise receive answers swiftly. Christians must speak to God daily (Rom. 12:12; I Thess. 5:17), seizing every opportunity for private, rev - erent prayer. Prayer should be passionate, sincere, and alive. In the final age, the words we speak in prayer carry im - mense power. God promises to keep those who pray regularly and stay close to Him protection from tribu- lation and wrath. In Luke 21:36 Jesus commanded His end time disciples to: Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man. Prayer is real, it’s powerful and it is essential. Effective, faithful, bold, powerful prayers can move mountains, open doors to boldly proclaim the Good News of the coming Kingdom (Acts 4:31; Eph. 6:19; Col. 4:3). It has been said that “God’s Work goes forward on its knees” – in prayer. Doing so depends on His people bringing sincerity and energy to their prayers as“…the effective fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”
