10. 1909-11 E90-1 Ty Cobb (HOF) - SGC GD 2
11. 1909-11 T206 Ty Cobb (HOF - Bat On Shoulder) - PSA VG-EX 4
E90-1 is to caramel cards what T206 is to tobacco cards. Dubbed “The Kraken” in some quarters (a play on T206 being called “The Monster”), the set’s array of Hall-of-Famers and short printed sub- jects is impressive and challenging. Ty Cobb is one of the keys and has been an in-demand card for many decades. This example presents a bright image, with some pleasing subtle- ties in the nascent twilight sky adding some nice depth to the color. There’s some mild creasing and the corners are a bit rounded, while the border are large top and bottom, a desirable trait. The back looks to have some original product staining but presents very well. Cobbs are always popular and this is a strong example for the grade. MINIMUM BID: $1,500
This Sweet Caporal 150 Series Factory 25 Ty Cobb Bat On Shoulder pose is one of 4 different cards of the Georgia Peach in the T206 set. Featuring a sunny look and nice centering, there are two spots of product residue in the upper right background. Some surface wear can be seen, fairly minor overall and the lower right corner area is a little weak looking. The back is richly red, with a couple of small spots of staining present. Hall-of-Famers from T206 are always pop- ular and other than the near-impossible Honus Wagner, the Cobbs are the biggest Cooperstown enshrined name in the entire series. MINIMUM BID: $3,000
