“They are small gains individually, but together, they have a significant effect on performance.” In his eyes, the true value of this partnership lies in performance and wellbeing: “If the riders recover better, that’s the best return we could have.” This is why, for two years, the riders have been sleeping on the same mattress at every stage. Made in the workshop in Aubonne, it has been specially designed to meet the needs of Team Tudor’s cyclists. Raphael Meyer stresses: “For us, Swissness means quality, reliability and precision.” However, for a partnership to be established, it had to make sense in terms of performance: “I saw the level of expertise and attention to detail at Elite Beds,” Fabian Cancellara remembers. “It reminded me a lot of elite cycling: the marginal gains, precision and consistency.” As a result, things fell into place very naturally: “Swiss quality and precision correspond perfectly to our identity,” confirms Sam Vinck, CCO (Chief Commercial Officer). The team is defined around three fundamental values: Swiss, Human and Performance. This DNA is summed up by their motto “Born to Dare,” which is reflected in every decision, including their choice of partners. He clarifies: “This partnership’s main objective is first and foremost to tangibly improve the riders’ recovery.” He is also keen to emphasise the scope of this approach: “This type of initiative shows that we are ready to invest in every detail. It’s one part of constructing a high-performance culture, and the riders are very sensitive to it.” And the vision is resolutely long term: “We see this as a lasting collaboration. There is potential to develop it further, especially with our new service course.” Raphael Meyer concludes: “Our ambition is to establish ourselves as a top-tier team, to become a WorldTour team in 2029 and to fight for wins at the biggest races.”To help them get there, the partnership with Elite is an added bonus: “We are both Swiss; we share the same vision of quality. We want to build something serious with Tudor Pro Cycling and partners like Elite help us raise our standards.”
