DAY 1: ARRIVE IN BANGKOK Land in Bangkok International Airport and enjoy a meet-and-greet service followed by your transfer to your hotel in downtown Bangkok. Thailand’s capital city is an ideal location for fun, entertainment and sightseeing. Visit ancient monuments, stroll around busy markets and dine at modern international restaurants before enjoying the local lounges and karaoke bars that help create this city’s lively night-time atmosphere. DAY 2: BANGKOK Today, explore the beautiful Grand Palace complex, where you can see the decorated Emerald Buddha of Wat Phra Kaew - generally considered the most important temple in Thailand. You can also visit the golden Buddha of Wat Traimit; relax in Lumphini Park; take a tour of Jim Thompson House; and explore the restaurants and traditional shops of Chinatown before returning to your hotel. DAY 3: BANGKOK CRUISE Take a cruise along Chao Phraya River and the canals of Thonburi, where you see stilt houses and gain an insight into Thai working life. Stop at Wat Arun - also known as Temple of Dawn - to see the sparkling spires of this towering temple, which is decorated with Chinese pottery and coloured glass. Dine on tasty local street food before your overnight stay. DAY 4: SUKHOTHAI Leave Bangkok in the early morning and drive north. Today, you visit the temples of Wat Yai Chai Mongkol, Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, Wat Phanan Choeng, and the stunning, riverside Bang Pa-In Royal Palace - once used by Thai kings. After lunch, see the former Hindu shrine of Phra Prang Sam Yot in Lopburi before heading to Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat, home to the famous bronze Buddha, and on to Sukhothai for your overnight stay. DAY 5: SUKHOTHAI AND LAMPANG Today, you tour the beautiful temples and monuments of the Historic Town of Sukhothai - a UNESCO World Heritage site. At the centre of Sukhothai, you can see Wat Chang Lom, which features a Sri Lankan, bell-shaped roof. Continue to the temples of Wat Chedi Chet Thaeo and Wat Nang Phaya - decorated with stucco designs from the Ayutthaya era. Arrive at Lampang in the afternoon where you ride a horse-drawn carriage from the local market to the century-old Baan Sao Nak house.

DAY 6: CHIANG RAI Visit the 16th-century Wat Phra That Lampang Luang temple and head to Chiang Rai. Stop en route at Phayao and see the lakeside Wat Si Khom Kham, before arriving in Chiang Rai in time for lunch. This afternoon, take a river cruise to visit a hill tribe village. Overnight in Chiang Rai. DAY 7: CHIANG RAI Today, explore Wat Phra That Chedi Luang and House of Opium, which is a small museum detailing the planting, harvesting and trading of this infamous plant. Continue to the Golden Triangle region, where the borders of Laos, Myanmar and Thailand meet. Head to Mae Sai, near Myanmar, and explore shops and markets before returning to Chiang Rai for dinner and your overnight stay. DAY 8: CHIANG MAI Drive along the mountain route to Chiang Mai - the ancient capital of the former Lanna Kingdom - and check in at your hotel. Have lunch before visiting a craft village where you can explore artisan workshops and see how some of the region’s most famous goods are made - such as silk, cotton, pottery, and wood carvings. Tonight, enjoy an authentic Khantoke dinner featuring folk songs and dances. Sit on Thai-style cushions and enjoy northern Thai food served in a traditional Lanna Kingdom court style! DAY 9: CHIANG MAI Today, you visit an elephant training camp. Take an elephant safari through the jungle before dismounting and jumping on a bamboo raft for your cruise down Mae Taeng River.
