DAY 1: ARRIVE IN SIEM REAP Land at Siem Reap Airport and enjoy a warm welcome from your guide. Settle into your hotel before travelling to the Roluos group of temples. Here, you can see the impressive 9th-century Bakong temple, then Preah Ko and Lolei which today house a small monastery. Return to the hotel for your first night in Siem Reap. DAY 2: SIEM REAP Discover the famous Angkor Wat Temple. This UNESCO World Heritage site is one of south-east Asia’s most important archaeological locations. In the afternoon, travel to Angkor Thom, the ‘Great City’, and see the spectacular 12th-century temple which features 54 towers and 216 smiling Buddha faces. Stay overnight in Siem Reap. DAY 3: KOMPONG CHAM In the morning, depart your hotel and head south to Kompong Khleang. Located on Tonlé Sap Lake, it is one of Siem Reap’s most remote floating villages where locals live on overwater stilts and enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding rice fields and floodplains. Enjoy a picnic lunch in a traditional villager’s home before travelling to Kompong Cham where you spend the evening. DAY 4: KRATIE In the morning travel to Kratie, stopping at the ancient Wat Nokor Temple en route. Upon arrival, savour a delicious lunch in a local restaurant before your ferry across to Koh Trong Island. This white-sand island sits in the middle of the Mekong River providing a quiet paradise away from busy town life. Enjoy a relaxing stay overnight. DAY 5: KOH TRONG ISLAND Spend the day at your leisure and soak up the island’s peaceful atmosphere. Tour the charming scenery on an ox-drawn cart ride or hire a bike and travel at your own pace. Look for rare Mekong mud turtles on the western shores before watching the picturesque sunset. DAY 6: KHONG ISLAND Depart Kratie and travel to Stung Treng on the Laos border. Savour a traditional lunch in a local restaurant before visiting Pa Peng Falls. See fishermen seeking their catch in the flowing river rapids then journey on to Khong Island for an overnight stay.
DAY 7: KHONG ISLAND Sail by dugout canoe across the Si Phan Don region, known as ‘Four Thousand Islands’, and visit Ban Khone fishing village. Here, stop for lunch before a guided trek to the Li Phi Falls. Return to Khong Island by boat and enjoy some free time to explore, before staying overnight. DAY 8: LUANG PRABANG Today, travel towards Pakse and stop at the Vat Phou temple complex. This well- preserved landscape is more than 1,000 years old and features pre-Angkorian Khmer architecture. Continue to Pakse International Airport for your flight to Luang Prabang then transfer to your hotel for the night. DAY 9: LUANG PRABANG Your guided morning tour starts at Vat Nong Temple. Witness the symbolic Tak Bat ceremony where a procession of monks line the streets and exchange food with local people. Next, awaken your senses at a vibrant market, then stop for a traditional breakfast at a welcoming restaurant. Discover Luang Prabang on the banks of the Mekong River by rickshaw and see more than one hundred beautiful temples, before embarking on a traditional river cruise to the Pak Ou Caves. Here, see hundreds of sheltered Buddha statues before your sunset cruise back to Luang Prabang. DAY 10: LUANG PRABANG Your full-day city tour starts at Wat Xieng Thong temple with its impressive collection of sacred buildings. See Vat Wisunarat - the city’s oldest temple - with traditional wooden windows and visit The Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre for an insight into Laos’ ethnic heritage, lifestyle and customs. Head back to Luang Prabang for the evening, enjoying a stop at the three-tiered Khuang Sy Falls. Eat lunch in this unique setting and swim in the hidden pools below, before your final night stay. DAY 11: DEPART FROM LUANG PRABANG Enjoy a leisurely breakfast in the hotel before transferring to the airport for your flight home.
